NLG Hosts Annual #Law4ThePeople Convention
The National Lawyers Guild (NLG) hosted its annual #Law4ThePeopleConvention in Detroit on April 9 and 10. The event celebrates NLG members and supporters whose work advances human rights and the rights of ecosystems over property interests.

At No Kings 3, we were able to complete enough shadows to nearly double the number of fully trained Legal Observers in the state!

FBI Is Training Local Law Enforcement on Targeting of the Left
Reporter Daniel Boguslaw published an exclusive story for Zeteo on April 7, detailing Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) internal emails instructing local law enforcement on carrying out the Trump administration’s crackdown on dissent from the left. The FBI-led training focuses on President Trump’s NSPM-7 national security memorandum, which was published publicly in September 2025 and attempts to criminalize a range of commonly-held left-wing political beliefs and so-called subversive activities.
NLG Condemns Joint U.S.-Israeli Attacks on Iran
The National Lawyers Guild joined the International Association of Defense Lawyers (IADL) in condemning the joint attack on Iran launched by the United States and Israel on Feb. 28, 2026. These attacks violate international law by undermining Iran’s territorial integrity and the U.S. Constitution by proceeding without congressional authorization or any imminent threat to national security.

Stay off the academic treadmill. Don’t overestimate the power of grades.
Keep politically active. Find a way to engage your energies outside of the confines of the law school curriculum.
